This is a Group Class at Little Neetchers. Tickets are needed to participate, and please purchase the book prior to the first session!
The book we will be going through is "How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen" It is respected for it's effective solutions to the unending challenges of raising children. Joanna Faber, and Julie King provide parents with powerful communication skills to parents of children ages two to seven. Faber and King, each a parenting expert in her own right, share their wisdom accumulated over years of conducting How To Talk workshops with parents, teachers, and pediatricians. With a lively combination of storytelling, cartoons, and observations from their workshops, they provide concrete tools and tips that will transform your relationship with the children in your life.
We will read this excellent book over the course of 5 weeks. This class will be in group setting, with conversation and discussion lead by Joshua Herbert ( a graduate student at UWS in the Marriage and family therapy training). This group will be a great place to share our own parenting struggles with each other, get support, learn better communication strategies, and get concrete tools to transform your relationship with the young kids in your life. This group is committed to being safe and non-judgmental. This book also addresses the special needs of children with sensory processing and Autism spectrum disorders.
